1860'S-70'S BLACK VELVET SWISS WAIST, CORSET STYLE LACING, LACE TRIM

Description

This black velvet bustier, or Swiss waist, has a boat neckline and pointed cap sleeves, trimmed with lace and beading.
The front has a rounded bosom, both front and back have a pointed waistline, it laces up the back, it's lined with tobacco brown cotton, with four bones in front, two in back.
The inside edges are lined with a narrow band of silk.
It measures 26 1/4" around at the waist, the slightly convex, or rounded bosom measures 34", both of these taken outside.
In good condition, with 3-4 tiny holes in front, some wear to the velvet scattered around, wear to a small section of the silk inner edging.
Several inches of the lace along the neckline is torn, this measures about 8" and 5" or so, the lace edging the sleeves has held up much better, and is in very good condition.
Most of the beading along the neckline is missing, maybe a third of the beading is missing on the edge of the sleeves.
I believe the laces, which are cord tipped with metal, are original, so have kept it laced the way I found it.
