..Johnson Evinrude OMC 6 or 8 HP Cowl 1991 Up - Good Rear Latch Needs Repaint!

Good serviceable part taken off early 90's Evinrude 6 hp; same cover fits the 8 and the corresponding Johnson-branded 6's and 8's same years 1991 to end of production.  Note part numbers for this are all over the map depending on whether you have a Johnson or an Evinrude and it's a "6" or an "8" and I think they sold them as shells or complete detailed assemblies further complicating the issue,
so check the pic's and note that this only fits later models with the overhead plastic recoil starters
not the earlier 6, 7.5 or 8 with the low-mounted pop-up starter.  This has a good rear latch and spring assembly - those often get broken on these cowls resulting in a nuisance at best or a cowl lost overboard at worst.  Cover doesn't look quite as bad as it appears in the pic's - a lot of the marks are just loose dust and dirt from outside storage
but I'm stating quite clearly that this is a 30 year old part not cherry

you will probably want to repaint anyway if you're putting it on a white Johnson

a new cowl is NLA from OMC and last listed for 7 so this is still a deal as this is the only cowl/cover of its type currently listed.
Use as-is or repaint and replace the decals - that's your call but in any event this will keep your motor running quietly and salt spray and rain off the powerhead.  Shipping is reasonable via FedEx Ground with tracking.
